and menu, the Shang Palace serves delicious
Cantonese dishes. The impressive view is matched
by the interior of the restaurant, which boasts an
air of sophistication with dark wood paneling and
intimate dining areas, complete with Chinese works
of art. The outstanding panoramic view leaves
guests in awe, and when combined with the fine
wood inlay easily explains the comfort guests find
in the tranquil atmosphere. Staff dressed in
elegant uniforms are discreet and always on hand
to answer questions. A number of tantalizing and
unusual dishes are featured on the Shang Palace's
menu, with the best listed under Chef's
Specialties. These excellent dishes include
Barbecued Peking Duck Skin with Pancakes, Braised
Sliced Abalones with Fish Maw topped by Crab Roe,
Stir-fried Bird's Nest and Egg Whites served in a
Golden Cup, and Sweet and Sour Chicken with Crispy
Milk. For vegetarians, Shang Palace offers the
Braised Ma Po Tofu with Shimeiji Mushrooms. For
those who love Dim Sum, the variety of
all-you-can-eat dim sum should not be missed.
Apart from the general wine list, Chinese rice
wine such as Hua Tiao Chiew, Mou Tai, and Wu Liang
Ye is available upon request to compliment the
fine cuisine, appropriately served warm and
accompanied by preserved plums. Dining on
sumptuous Sichuan dishes at Shang Palace is hard
to beat.
